JR East Pass

October 20,2016

Q: What’s the most economical and convenient option for moving around in Japan?

For us, any trip to Japan would involve a significant amount of time travelling on Japan’s bullet train or Shinkansen. To keep the cost down, we have purchased the JR East Pass in Malaysia before our departure. This flexible pass enabled us to utilise five different types of Shinkansen. The train lines operated by JR East is one of the most convenient way to move around in Japan. We were so excited to kick start our train journey with a friendly welcome from the railway crew. This pass also made all our travels way more affordable.

But it was not just the trains that were efficient, the cleaners also worked really hard to ensure that the train was clean for everyone to ride in. We were totally amazed when we watched the cleaning crew diligently wiping the trays, sanitizing the windows and sweeping the floor. We were also particularly impressed with Japan’s rotating train seats to make sure the passengers could always get a forward –facing seat. Then, no one will ever need to be trapped with the nauseated-inducing backwards ride.
