Kyushu, in particular, is home to Tonkotsu Ramen, a dish that is wildly popular both in Japan and abroad. The Tonkotsu broth was created in 1937 in Kurume city, located in the southern part of the Fukuoka prefecture.
Tonkotsu Ramen actually varies from region to region. There are five main kinds of Kyushu Ramen, each with distinct flavors and ingredients.
